KEPCO and KENTECH Sign MOU to Establish the Advanced Grid Modeling Center
KEPCO and KENTECH agreed to jointly establish and operate the Advanced Grid Modeling (AGM) Center — strengthening real-grid analysis capability, training specialists, and building a collaborative ecosystem among related institutions.
Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) and Korea Institute of Energy Technology (KENTECH) signed a memorandum of understanding to jointly establish and operate the Advanced Grid Modeling (AGM) Center.
As the share of renewable generation grows and distributed resources spread, uncertainty and complexity in the power system keep rising. The two institutions agreed to respond to this ahead of time by strengthening analysis capability grounded in the real grid, training specialists, and building a collaborative ecosystem among related institutions.
Under the agreement the two sides will jointly develop and cross-validate grid analysis models, run training programmes for practitioners, and host technology forums that connect industry, academia, and research institutes.
KENTECH leads the development of real-grid analysis models such as OPEN-EGO and KPG-193, while KEPCO provides grid data and technical advice, raising the precision and practical value of power system analysis.
