Download KPG 193-BPESD11

KPG 193-BPESD11 provides future-year expansion scenarios (2024–2038) for the synthetic Korean 193-bus power grid, based on Korea’s 11th Basic Plan for Long-Term Electricity Supply and Demand (BPESD).

About this dataset

KPG 193 BPESD-11 is a long-term planning dataset for the Korean transmission system developed by the AGM Center at KENTECH based on the KPG 193 Test Grid. It incorporates the generation and transmission development plans set out in Korea’s 11th Basic Plan for Long-Term Electricity Supply and Demand (BPESD-11) into annual test-system cases from 2024 through 2038. It provides annual MATPOWER-compatible network models, hourly time-series profiles, renewable capacity data, and generation and transmission expansion metadata.

Across the full dataset horizon, KPG 193 BPESD-11 includes 61 generator additions, 49 generator retirements, 207 AC transmission-line additions, and 7 DC line additions. It is designed to enable consistent comparison and analysis of long-term power system plans and infrastructure expansion scenarios.

The KPG (Korean Power Grid) Platform provides KPG 193 BPESD-11 through its KPG test system module. With KPG Run, users can perform annual power-flow calculations and unit-commitment (UC) analyses. KPG View enables map-based visualization of annual network configurations and analysis results.

The dataset supports research on long-term power system planning, generation and transmission expansion, resource adequacy, and renewable energy integration. It is released under the Open Database License (ODbL 1.0) to promote transparent and reproducible research.
